New initiative to promote life science entrepreneurs                                                                 

      

The Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP), an initiative supported by Department of Biotechnology, Government of India with a mandate to enable cutting-edge research and innovation in the life sciences, has launched an initiative that aims to attract technology and business professionals to pursue on a portfolio of validated and translated technologies generated by its programmes.

The Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP), an initiative supported by Department of Biotechnology, Government of India with a mandate to enable cutting-edge research and innovation in the life sciences, has launched an initiative that aims to attract technology and business professionals to pursue on a portfolio of validated and translated technologies generated by its programmes.


Called C-CAMP Lab Ventures Program, the initiative is s supported by the Centre’s Discovery to Innovation Accelerator (DIA), which is a translational research programme catalysed and promoted by the Office of Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India. The technologies on offer have an additional incentive in that they have a seed funding of up to 100 Lakhs annually from TIA (TiE India Angels), which is a network of angel investors.

A C-CAMP press release noted that the new programme will be apt for seasoned startups, experienced business professionals across India as well as aspiring bio entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds like management, engineering, clinical & other domains. The last date for applications is 31 August, 2022.
