About the Author

Dr. Govind Bhattacharjee is a prolific and versatile writer who has authored six books and contributed numerous articles in national newspapers and research journals on diverse topics. His areas of interest include science, photography, public finance, developmental economics and public policy. In his professional life, he has served more than three decades as a civil servant and before retiring as Director General from the Office of the Comptroller & Auditor General of India at New Delhi in 2018.He is currently a Professor at the Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi. Popularscience continues to be his first love.
