1.What is Vigyan Prasar (VP) ?

Vigyan Prasar (VP) was set up by the department of Science and Technology , Goverment of India, as an autonomous registered Society in 1989 for taking up large-scale science popularisation tasks.Its broad objectives may be summarised as follows:
To undertake, aid, promote, guide and coordinate efforts in popularisation of science and inculcation of scientific temper among the people and to increase the knowledge, awareness and interest about science and technology among all segments of the society.
To provide and promote effective linkages on a continuing basis among various scientific institutions, agencies, educational and academic bodies, laboratories, museums industry, trade and other organisations for effective exchange and dissemination of S & T information.
To undertake development of materials-audio, video, audio-visual and printed methods and modes of communication, so as to enable the masses to better understand, appreciate and comprehend abstract scientific principles and practises.
To organise research work, courses, workshops, seminars, symposia, training programmes, fairs, exhibitions, film-shows, popular discussions, street plays, quizzes etc., in furtherance of the objectives of the Society.

2.What is Science Biographies Series ?

Is aseries of books which bring to light the life and pioneering work of scienece popularisers of pre-independent India.

3. What is Science Classics Reprint Series ?

A reprint programme to popularise books of great masters who have inspired generations of students and science lovers.

4. What is Eclipse Series ?

Books which focuses on the phenomenon of the eclipses, with extra emphasis on dispelling age-old myths and superstitions related to eclipses.

5.What is NCSTC-Hornbill Natural History Series ?

A series on natural history to sensitise youngsters to issues pertaining to nature. Also contains many interesting colour photographs

6.What is the standard Delivery time for an order ?

All items will be shipped directly by the Vigyan Prasar to the Buyers Address ( as mentioned in shipping adddress) by Post.The standard DeliveThe standard Delivery Time for an order is 45 days.

7. What is the Policy for changes in prices ?

The Buyer acknowledges that Vigyan Prasar may change prices without notice .Delivery may be subject to an additional charge to cover the cost, plus VAT where applicable.

8. What are the basic conditions of sale ?

These conditions shall apply to all contracts for the sale of Goods by Vigyan Prasar to the Buyer to the exclusion of all other terms and conditions including any terms or conditions which the Buyer may purport to apply under any purchase order confirmation of order or similar document.
All orders for Goods shall be deemed to be an offer by the Buyer to purchase Goods pursuant to these Conditions.
Acceptance of delivery of the Goods shall be deemed conclusive evidence of the Buyer’s acceptance of these conditions. Any variations to these Conditions (including any special terms and conditions agreed between the parties) shall be inapplicable unless agreed in writing by Vigyan Prasar.

9. Incase of damages and shortages ?

Any damages or shortages must be noted on the Carrier’s Delivery Note and notice in writing given to Vigyan Prasar within 14 days of receipt of the Goods for any credit or replacement to be given.
After acceptance the Buyer shall not be entitled to reject Goods which are not in accordance with the contract.
No Goods delivered to the Buyer which are in accordance with the contract will be accepted for return without the prior written approval of Vigyan Prasar in accordance with Vigyan Prasar ‘s returns authorisation procedure and on terms to be determined at the absolute discretion of Vigyan Prasar.
Goods returned without the prior written approval of Vigyan Prasar may be at Vigyan Prasar ‘s absolute discretion be returned to the Buyer or stored at the Buyer’s cost without prejudice to any rights or remedies Vigyan Prasar may have.
