SERB and IIT Gandhinagar to host conclave on women in S&T                                                                 

      

The Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Government of India, and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar are jointly organising a national conclave especially for women researchers, scientists, and engineers. The “Women in Science & Technology: Fostering Innovation” conclave will be organized on Sep. 29-30.

More than 150 women scientists, researchers, engineers, students, and postdoctoral fellows from industry and academia across the country will participate in the conclave. All these participants receive SERB grants and fellowships and work on diverse research projects.

The “Women in Science & Technology: Fostering Innovation” conclave will be organized on Sep. 29-30.


Prof. Sandeep Verma, Secretary, SERB, and Prof Amit Prashant, Officiating Director of IITGN, will inaugurate the conclave on September 29 at 9:30 am.

The event aims to encourage women working in science, technology, and engineering fields to translate their innovative ideas into technology, instill the spirit of entrepreneurship in the participants, and facilitate discussions about translational research and its challenges.

The two-day conclave is lined-up with several exciting technical sessions, including ‘Women in Leadership’; ‘Women in Industry and Technology Innovation’; ‘Challenges for Women in Industrial/Translational Research’; ‘Start-up opportunities for Women Researchers’; Networking Session with researchers; among others. Several leading experts and researchers from the industry and academia will enlighten the participants with their experiences and insights on various discussion topics.

IITGN has arranged a day-care facility for toddlers of participating women scientists and researchers to help them attend the sessions without worrying about their children. The participants have widely welcomed this gesture.
